Getting started with Growave

Set up Growave and activate the core features to engage your customers from day one.

Welcome to Growave

We’re excited to have you on board! Growave is your all-in-one marketing solution for Shopify Plus brands. With loyalty programs, reviews, wishlists, referrals, and Instagram UGC in one place, you can turn first-time shoppers into lifelong fans without juggling multiple apps.

During installation, Growave guides you through a short onboarding flow. If you skipped it, don’t worry — default settings are applied, and you’ll see a setup checklist on the Home page of your Growave admin panel.


Step 1 – Enable essential settings

Before anything else, make sure Growave can show up on your store.

App embeds

Widgets for Rewards, Reviews, and Wishlist won’t appear until you switch on the Growave app embed in your theme.

  • In Shopify admin, go to Online store → Themes → Customize.

  • Click App embeds in the left panel and enable Growave.

Customer accounts

To use key Growave features like Rewards, Reviews, and Wishlists, customer accounts must be enabled in Shopify:

  • In Shopify admin, go to Settings → Customer accounts.

  • Switch on Show login links.

  • Choose:

    • Customer accounts (recommended) — passwordless login with a Shopify verification code.

    • Legacy accounts — traditional login and registration.

Step 2 – Add widgets to your store

Widgets are the storefront touchpoints where customers interact with Growave. Adding them ensures shoppers can see rewards, leave reviews, and save products.

  • In Growave admin, go to Onsite widgets.

  • Add widgets for Rewards, Reviews, and Wishlist.

  • Enable checkout or account page extensions if you want loyalty features to appear in more places.

Step 3 – Configure and launch core apps

Rewards

The Rewards app combines three programs to drive loyalty:

  • Points — reward customers for actions like purchases, sign-ups, and reviews.

  • Referrals — let customers invite friends and earn rewards when they buy.

  • VIP tiers — group loyal customers into tiers and unlock exclusive perks.

Customers are automatically enrolled in Rewards after creating an account and placing their first order.

If you skipped onboarding, Growave adds basic earning and redemption rules:

  • Place order — 5 points for every $1 spent.

  • Create account — 100 points.

  • Leave review — 100 points.

  • Redeem 500 points for a $5 amount discount.

  • Redeem 1000 points for a $10 amount discount.

If these fit your needs, you can activate the program right away. Otherwise, customize the rules under Rewards → PointsWays to earn and Ways to redeem

Referrals

Encourage your customers to spread the word. With Referrals, shoppers can share a personal link, and both they and their friends can earn rewards when a first purchase is made.

VIP tiers

Reward your most loyal customers with exclusive perks. VIP tiers let you group customers by milestones (like points earned or money spent) and offer special benefits at each level.


Reviews

Customer reviews build trust and showcase product credibility.

  • Add the Reviews widget from Onsite widgets.

  • Configure automatic review request emails under Reviews → Notifications (turn them on/off, adjust timing, edit content, track performance).

  • Import existing reviews from Import/Export → Reviews using CSV if you’re switching from another tool.

  • To encourage reviews, you can also reward customers with points:

  1. Go to Rewards → Points → Ways to earn.

  2. Click Add ways to earn.

  3. Select Leave review.


Wishlist

The Wishlist app lets customers save favorite products and reduces cart abandonment by sending reminders.

  • Go to Wishlist → Notifications.

  • Customize and enable reminder types:

    • Saved wishlist notification series — sends a series of three emails to users who have saved items in their wishlist.

    • Wishlist items on sale — notifies users when an item they saved is on sale.

    • Wishlist item back in stock — alerts users when an item they saved is back in stock.

  • Track Wishlist performance over the last 30 days.

⚠️ Important

Wishlist emails are only sent to customers who have opted in to marketing emails.


Migrate your existing data

Switching from another platform? You can import:

  • Rewards data (points, VIP tiers, birthdays)

  • Reviews

  • Wishlists


Step 5 – Send emails from your domain

Stay on brand by sending Growave notifications from your own email address.

  1. In the Growave admin, go to SettingsGeneralCustom email domain, and click Setup.

  2. In the pop-up window, enter your email to send notifications from and click Next.

  3. Confirm your email in the verification message from Amazon.

  4. Copy the DNS records we generate and add them to your hosting provider’s settings.


Step 6 – Explore integrations

Growave integrates with popular Shopify apps for subscriptions, email/SMS marketing, and page builders.
