Overview
A Wishlist is one of the highest-intent signals a shopper can give you — saving a product is a step short of buying it. This guide covers the Wishlist best practices that turn that intent into engagement, repeat visits, and sales. It focuses on why each Growave Wishlist feature moves the needle and how to get the most from it; each section links to a step-by-step article for the setup details.
Capture more leads by letting guests save items to wishlists
Growave provides flexibility in how you handle guest users, allowing you to choose between capturing emails immediately or reducing friction for first-time engagement. You can toggle this behavior in Wishlist → Settings using the Require guests to provide email addresses option:
Require email upfront: When enabled, guests are prompted to enter their email address before they can save items. Their saved items are tied to this email so they can access their wishlist later, and they can also opt in to receive wishlist reminders and store updates. This ensures every saved item is tied to a lead, ideal if you rely heavily on automated email follow-ups.
Allow free guest saving: Letting guests freely add items without signing up removes the biggest barrier to first-time engagement. When disabled, a Save my wishlist link appears in the widget. When clicked, it asks the guest for an email address, and after submission, they receive a follow-up email with a personalized link to access their wishlist in the future. This still grows your marketing list by turning an anonymous browser into a subscriber you can re-engage later.
✅ Tip: Keep the guest email requirement off so nothing blocks that first save, and let the Save my wishlist link in the Wishlist drawer capture emails from the shoppers who are already engaged.

Drive repeat visits with multiple wishlists and gift registries
Multiple wishlists give shoppers a reason to keep coming back and curating — organizing favorites by season, project, or occasion deepens their relationship with your catalog. Gift registries go further: they turn one customer's list into a shopping destination for their friends and family, bringing in brand-new buyers you didn't pay to acquire.
✅ Tip: Promote registries around weddings, birthdays, and holidays to attract first-time gifters and rest easy knowing an item marks itself Purchased once a gifter's order is paid, so nobody buys the same gift twice.

Make saving effortless with touchpoints across your store
The easier it is to save, the more shoppers engage — so put the Wishlist everywhere they browse. Growave gives you an Add to Wishlist button on product pages, heart icons on collection cards, a floating Wishlist widget available from any page except for the dedicated Wishlist page, and the full Wishlist page extension embedded inside customer accounts, so shoppers meet their saved items at every step of the journey.
✅ Tip: Place the Add to Wishlist button right next to Add to cart so saving feels as natural as buying, and add the Wishlist to customer accounts so a shopper checking an order is greeted by a reason to keep browsing.

Turn browsers into buyers with social proof
Shoppers trust what other shoppers love, and the Wishlist puts that social proof to work. The Wishlist counter in the Add to Wishlist button and product card icon shows how many people have saved a product, and star Reviews ratings appear right on the Wishlist page — both reassure undecided visitors and add gentle urgency around popular or low-stock items.
✅ Tip: Keep the Wishlist counter visible on your products so that save count signals demand and nudges hesitant shoppers to act before the item sells out.

Recover lost sales with automated reminder emails
Most shoppers who save an item don't buy it the same day, and automated reminder emails are what bring them back. Growave sends a timed series of saved-item reminders, plus price-drop and back-in-stock alerts that reach customers at the exact moment a wanted item becomes buyable. Built-in frequency limits keep the emails helpful rather than spammy.
Every Wishlist email — the three saved-item reminders plus the price-drop and back-in-stock alerts — also has an Include recommended products option. Enabling it adds relevant products to the email, so each reminder doubles as a chance to upsell and cross-sell alongside the item the customer already wants.
✅ Tip: Turn on the price-drop and back-in-stock alerts — they convert well precisely because they're perfectly timed to a customer's own interest — and enable Include recommended products to put more of your catalog in front of an already-interested shopper.
Close the sale with a discount incentive
When saves are high but conversions lag, a small incentive often tips the balance. Adding a store-wide discount code to your reminder emails gives hesitant shoppers a concrete reason to check out now, and Growave applies the code automatically when they return, so there's nothing for them to copy or paste.
✅ Tip: Reserve discounts for shoppers who've saved but not bought — use your Wishlist data to find products with lots of saves and few sales, then target those reminders.
Grow your reach through social sharing
Every shared list is a personal recommendation that brings new visitors to your store at no cost. Customers can share a list or registry in one click using a direct link or icons for Facebook, Pinterest, X, WhatsApp, and email, putting your products in front of an audience that already trusts the person sharing.
✅ Tip: Enable all sharing platforms. In your Share wishlist settings, toggle on all available sharing channels. When a customer shares their curated list or registry on social media, it acts as a personal recommendation to their network, which is highly effective for driving social proof and referral traffic.
Unlock B2B revenue with corporate Wishlists
If you sell to businesses (business-to-business, or B2B), corporate Wishlists turn group decision-making into closed orders. A buying team can collaborate on one shared list, approve it, and convert it into a Shopify draft order with catalog-specific pricing applied automatically — no manual quoting required.
Customize Wishlist branding and import existing wishlists
Two quick wins before you promote the Wishlist. First, match its colors, incons, and wording to your brand so it feels like a native part of your store rather than an add-on — full translation is supported. Second, if you're moving to Growave from another app, import your existing Wishlist data so returning customers find their saved items waiting, protecting the engagement you've already earned.

Track Wishlist performance
To measure how well your Wishlist features are performing, Growave provides three distinct dashboards to analyze product demand, revenue, and gifting trends.
Wishlist activity (product-level insights)
Navigate to Wishlist → Wishlist activity to track individual product performance and inventory demands. You can monitor exactly which products and variants are being saved, purchased, or sitting out of stock.
✅ Tip: Run targeted campaigns based on activity. If a specific product is frequently saved but rarely purchased, consider running a targeted sale. If you see high wishlist volume for an out-of-stock item, use this data to prioritize restocking.

Wishlist analytics (high-level revenue and engagement)
Navigate to Analytics → Wishlist for a comprehensive view of how wishlists drive sales. Here you can monitor total revenue generated directly from wishlists, review customer wishlist activity broken down by sales channels, and track the conversion performance of your "Save my wishlist" popup and automated email notifications.

Gift registry activity (event-based gifting)
Navigate to Wishlist → Gift registry activity to track the success of your Gift Registry program. You can monitor items added to registries versus items successfully purchased by gifters, track the total orders placed, and sales generated specifically through gift registry links. It also provides detailed order logs (including the Gifter's email and Registrant's details) and options to archive registries.
