General questions
Why is Growave 1.0 shutting down?
We’re retiring Growave 1.0 to phase out outdated infrastructure and ensure all merchants benefit from improved performance, stronger security, and access to new features available only in Growave 2.0.
Can I keep using Growave 1.0?
No, Growave 1.0 is being phased out. Continuing to use this version poses risks, as it no longer receives updates or support. This means:
- Future improvements and optimizations will only be available in Growave 2.0.
- New features and enhancements will not be added to version 1.0.
- As our team shifts focus to Growave 2.0, unresolved issues in 1.0 may increase over time.
To ensure your store stays up to date and fully functional, we strongly recommend upgrading to Growave 2.0. Please contact our support team to get assistance with migration.
What happens if I don’t update?
We’ve started automatically migrating stores to Growave 2.0 based on plan type. You’ll be notified when your store enters the next phase of migration.
Most stores require no additional action or adjustments. However, during the migration process, you may be asked to update permissions (scopes) for the Growave app, and in some cases, approve a collaborator request. If anything comes up, our support team is ready to assist and guide you through each step.
What's the current status of the Growave 2.0 migration?
We’ve already started migrating stores to Growave 2.0 in phases, based on your Growave plan, Shopify plan, and theme type.
- Growave Free plan + Shopify Online Store 2.0
Your store has already been automatically migrated to Growave 2.0.
- Growave Free plan + legacy Shopify themes
You will remain on Growave 1.0 for now. Please contact our support team for more details.
- Archived Growave plans + Shopify Basic or Grow plans
These stores will be automatically migrated to Growave 2.0 on May 26, 2025. If your store falls under this update, you should have received an email with instructions and a link to the Update page.
Why are my Growave widgets not displaying after migration?
Before migration, you’ll receive an email with a short set of instructions — this includes following a link and approving updated app permissions (scopes) in your Shopify admin.
If these permissions haven’t been approved, Growave widgets will not appear on your storefront. This is the most common reason for missing widgets after migration.
Can’t find the email? Just contact our support team, and we’ll help you complete the setup.
Will I lose any existing data (e.g., points, reviews, wishlists) when I transition to Growave 2.0?
No, all your existing data, including points, reviews, referral history, VIP tiers, and wishlists, will be securely migrated to Growave 2.0. Nothing will be lost, and your customers can continue using the features without interruption.
How long does the migration process take? Will there be any downtime during the migration?
The migration process is designed to be seamless, guaranteeing no data loss or downtime. Your existing features will be updated to their latest versions, as showcased in our demo store.
In some cases, if your store uses third-party apps or custom scripts, the process might take longer. Typically, migration can be completed within a few hours to a few days. Our team will review your setup and provide an estimated timeline if needed. You’ll also receive a notification once the migration is complete.
Do I need to reconfigure my settings or customize everything again after upgrading?
Most of your existing settings will be carried over automatically. However, to take full advantage of Growave 2.0, we recommend reviewing and updating a few key areas:
- Branding: Growave 2.0 offers expanded branding options. After the update, please customize colors, icons, and styles to better match your store’s identity.
- Notifications: The upgraded notification system is more powerful and flexible. If you use third-party apps like Klaviyo, they will continue to work without conflict. If you were using Growave’s built-in notifications, review and customize the default texts.
- Rewards page: This page needs to be recreated after migration using the Shopify page customizer. It offers more customization than before, however, customers can still access their rewards via the Rewards pop-up widget. 📖 Read this guide to create an engaging Rewards page with Growave 2.0
- Translations: You’ll gain access to improved language support. If anything looks off, you can adjust translations using the Language Editor. In case you need your previous translations, please let us know, and we’ll be happy to send you a file with your original content.
Financial questions
Is Growave 2.0 only available on specific plans?
No, Growave 2.0 is available on all current Growave plans — it’s not limited to specific tiers. You will be able to access the updated features once your store is migrated.

Do I need to pay for the migration?
No, the migration to Growave 2.0 is completely free of charge. There are no hidden fees or charges associated with the transition process.
What happens to my unused credits or balance from Growave 1.0?
Any remaining credits or balance from your Growave 1.0 plan will typically be automatically applied toward future Growave charges in Shopify until fully used. These credits will appear on your Shopify subscription invoice.
Transition questions
Do you offer training or guides to help me and my team adapt to Growave 2.0?
Yes, we provide detailed guides, tutorials, and support to help you and your team get comfortable with Growave 2.0. Can I continue using Social Login in Growave 2.0?
No, Growave 2.0 does not support Social Login. However, here are a few options to consider:

- Continue using Shopify’s theme-based login form and inform your customers that they’ll need to reset their passwords for the new version.
