Adjust order rewarding settings
IN THIS ARTICLE:
Order rewarding settings refer to the Place order rule as it is possible to define according to which order statuses customers will receive points, at which condition the points are subtracted from the orders, and exclude issuance of points from taxes, shipping costs, and discounts used.
To dive deeper into the matter, let's have a look at the Rewards settings below.
Rewarding options
Rewarding customers under order statuses means that the points for the "Place order" rule will be given to the order when one of these options is chosen:
- Paid;
- Partially paid;
- Fulfilled;
- Partially fulfilled;
- Authorized;
- Pending;
- Partially refunded.
NOTE: If you select the financial status "Partially Refunded," your customers will not receive bonuses for the part of the order that has been refunded.
For example, if a customer buys two products, each priced at $50, totaling $100, and decides to return one of them, they will not get bonuses on the $50 spent for the refunded product.
NOTE: If the status of your old order updates after one of the earning rules has been activated, and this order meets the requirements of one of the earning rules, then in this case, the client will also receive points.
Subtracting rewards
Subtract rewards according to the order status means that points for placed orders will be subtracted if the order status is one of the following:
- Refunded;
- Partially refunded;
- Voided.
Excluding coupon discounts or a gift card used
If your customer applies a discount to their order and you want to give the points for every $1 spent considering this discount, please click on the "Exclude coupon discounts used".
I.e the order costs $100 itself, your customer used a 10% discount and will pay only $90. According to the "Place Order" action, you will have to give 100 points ($1=1P), but by enabling this option, you will give only 90 points instead of 100 because you've excluded the discount from the order's cost.
To exclude gift cards from earning points, please go to Settings -> Rewards and enable the 'Exclude Gift cards' option. For example, if you enable this setting, place a $100 order, and apply for a $30 Gift card, then you will earn points for a $70 part.
Including taxes
You can include taxes like VAT or TVA, for example, the total command is 20$ and VAT is 2$ from the command. If you include taxes your customer will receive 20 points, if taxes are not included he will receive 18$.
Including shipping costs
Also, you can include shipping costs to your rewards program, for example, the total command is $28 and the shipping cost is $8, so in the end, the customer will receive 28 points to his balance.
So your clients will receive the full amount that they have spent on their command. This setting can be disabled at any time, up to your decision as a shop owner.
Setting minimum purchase amount
Now you can set the minimum purchase amount for the 'Place order' rule so that a customer will only get points if the amount is higher than the mentioned one. It's useful for countries with low currency costs. For example, if you set the minimum purchase amount to 1000 it means all orders under 1000 will not be rewarded with points.
NOTE: If customers are wondering why points are not issued for the full amount spent, it's because of the rewardable. You can track the order history and the amount rewardable in the customer's profile from Growave Admin. Rewardable - the amount for which the user has received points (settings that exclude some products/taxes, etc. can be applied). This field includes a detail of what these points were obtained from. Depending on your settings amount of points for the order may contain a VIP Tier multiplier, Birthday multiplier, Boost campaign multiplier, Taxes, Discount, Shipping, Refund, or Product eligibility.
