This glossary provides definitions for terms and features found within the Growave platform. Whether you're exploring our Rewards, Reviews, Wishlist, or Instagram UGC apps, or navigating various settings, this resource will help you understand key concepts and use Growave to its full potential.

App | A core tool within the Growave platform (e.g., Rewards, Reviews, Wishlist, Instagram UGC). |
Program | A structured system within the Rewards app (Points, Referral, VIP Tiers) designed to incentivize customer loyalty. |
Feature | A specific functionality within an App (e.g., Nudges, Q&A, Language editor, etc.). |
Widget | A floating interface (sidebar or popup) on the storefront that allows customers to interact with Growave apps without leaving the page. Growave also offers other types of widgets and extensions that can be embedded into different storefront pages. |
App embed | A block of code enabled via the Shopify Theme Editor to display Growave widgets (like star ratings) on specific store pages. |
Launcher | A floating button on the storefront that opens a widget (Rewards, Reviews, or Wishlist) when clicked. |
Tab | A navigation element used to switch between different content views within a widget or the admin panel. |
Admin panel | The backend interface where merchants configure settings, manage customers, and view analytics for all Growave apps. |
Home page | The main landing page of the admin panel, providing a performance overview, support contact cards, and quick setup guide. |

Rewards
Settings

Reward management | A section for controlling which sales channels are eligible for rewards and determining when points are issued or canceled based on order status. |
Manage reward-eligible sales channels | A setting that controls which sales channels (e.g., Online Store, POS, Shop App) qualify for earning rewards. |
Limit rewards to selected channels | A checkbox setting that activates channel restrictions, allowing merchants to explicitly "Allow" or "Forbid" rewards on specific platforms. |

Show Rewards widgets to guests | A setting that allows unauthenticated visitors to view the Rewards pop-up and "Earn points" widgets before logging in. |

Referral program status | A switch to enable or disable the Referral program. |

VIP Tier enrollment | A section in Rewards Settings to choose how to track customers' tier progress. |
Look up activity from the first order | An enrollment option that tracks all orders and rewardable activities starting from the customer's very first order. |
Current year | An enrollment option that tracks activity starting from January 1st of the current calendar year. |
Update tier progress based on recent activity | An enrollment option that uses a rolling activity window (e.g., last 365 days) to evaluate VIP progress dynamically. Older actions are removed as the window shifts forward. |
Specific date | An enrollment option that tracks customer activity for tier calculation starting from a specific date selected by the merchant. |
VIP Tier rewarding | A setting to customize how often customers receive rewards when they enter a tier. |
Reward only once | A rewarding option where the tier entry reward is issued only the first time a user reaches that tier. |
Reward on every tier update | A rewarding option where the tier entry reward is issued every time the user achieves the tier, regardless of previous history. |
Reset Rewards programs | A tool to clear all points, tier progress, and generated discounts for a specified period. |
Rewards for past actions | A feature that retroactively issue rewards to customers for actions (like sign-ups or orders) completed before the Rewards program was activated. |

Reward delay | A setting that holds earned reward in a "pending" state for a specific period (e.g., 14 days). |
Limit how many times a customer can get a reward | A restriction on how often a customer can trigger a specific earning rule (e.g., "Twice per month" or "Once per lifetime"). |
Store credit lifetime | The duration (in days) before issued Store credit expires and is removed from the customer's balance. Can be adjusted in the Place order rule when the Reward type is set to Cash-back (Store credit). |
Birthday point multiplier | A setting within the "Celebrate birthday" rule that increases the points earned from the "Place order" rule for purchases made on the customer's birthday (e.g., 2x points). |
Require email confirmation | A setting for legacy customer accounts within the "Sign up" rule that mandates customers verify their email address before receiving their reward. |

Eligible countries | A setting that restricts the Free shipping reward to orders shipping to specific countries. |

Referrals
Term | Definition |

Referral rewards | Incentives issued to participants in the Referral program. The referred friend receives a reward immediately after creating an account via the referral link, while the referring customer receives their reward after the friend completes their first purchase. |

Exclude from Referral program | A button next to the fraud report to cancel the blocked reward and disqualify the Referring customer from further participation. |
Add to Referral program | A button next to the fraud report that appears after the customer has been excluded, allowing the admin to reinstate the customer in the program after an investigation. |
VIP Tiers

VIP Tiers program | A customer retention tool that automatically assigns shoppers to a hierarchical tier based on their activity, granting them exclusive rewards and benefits. |
Tier name | The title assigned to a specific level within the VIP program (e.g., Bronze, Silver, Gold). |
Milestone | The main condition or required threshold a customer must meet to join a specific VIP tier. Note: The milestone type is locked after the first tier is created. |
Points earned | A milestone setting where tier assignment is based on the total number of points a customer has accumulated through shop activity. |
Orders placed | A milestone setting where tier assignment is based on the total count of orders a customer has placed. |
Amount spent | A milestone setting where tier assignment is based on the total monetary value a customer has spent in the store. |
Customer tag | A milestone setting where tier assignment is dictated by the presence of specific Shopify tags on a customer's profile. |
Referrals completed | A milestone setting where tier assignment is based on the number of successful referrals a customer has made. |
Set as default tier | A checkbox setting that automatically assigns users to this tier without them needing to meet any milestones. |
A tool within the VIP Tiers program that allows businesses to create and customize VIP Tiers by defining the criteria and rewards associated with each tier. | |
