Overview
The Review request rules section allows you to manage who receives review invitations, when they are sent, and which products are eligible for reviews. You can access these settings by navigating to Reviews β Settings β General β Review request rules section.
1. Choose who receives review request emails
Control the audience for your automated review requests. You can select:
All customers: Sends requests to every customer who makes a purchase, regardless of their email preferences.
Marketing opt-in only: Sends requests only to customers who have agreed to receive marketing emails from your store.
2. Collect only verified reviews
This setting determines who is permitted to submit a review on your site. If the Allow reviews only from verified buyers checkbox is:
Enabled: Only customers who have purchased the product (verified buyers) can leave a review. The review form will be hidden from guest visitors. Guest visitors (non-purchasers) are not allowed to post reviews. Orders with a status of Refunded or Partially Refunded are automatically ineligible for review submission.
Disabled: Both verified buyers and guest visitors can submit reviews.

For Growave 2.0 users, enabling this setting reveals an additional option to limit how many reviews a verified buyer can leave for the same product.
Manual or automatic publishing of submitted reviews can be adjusted in the Moderation and display section.
3. Send review requests based on order status
Choose the specific order status that will trigger the review request email:
Paid: Review requests are sent once the order reaches the Paid status in Shopify. This is recommended for digital products that are delivered instantly.
Fulfilled: Review requests are sent when you mark the order as fulfilled.
Delivered: Review requests are sent when the shipment status updates to Delivered.

4. Send review requests for orders made via
Select the sales channels that should trigger review requests when an order is placed via this channel:
Online store
Point of sale (POS)

If your store uses both channels, both are selected by default. You must keep at least one channel selected for requests to send.
5. Exclude products from review requests
You can prevent Growave from sending review request emails for specific items (e.g., gifts, samples, or sensitive products).
How it works: Assign a specific tag to the product in Shopify, then enter that tag in this field. Growave will exclude such products from review request emails containing eligible products and will not trigger a review request at all if an order contains only such excluded products.
6. Get notified about reviews
Enable this setting to receive an email alert whenever a customer submits a new review. If you have allowed customers to edit their reviews, you will also receive a notification whenever a review is updated.
