Overview

With Shopney, you can quickly create a high-quality mobile app, delivering an optimized shopping experience beyond what’s possible on a mobile website. By integrating Growave with Shopney, you can make your loyalty program instantly accessible to your customers, display authentic reviews, keep each customer's wishlist synced between the app and your web store, and build a comprehensive mobile retention strategy. Each feature is set up separately, so you can add Rewards, Reviews, and Wishlist in any order.

Key benefits / use cases

Integrating Growave with Shopney lets you:

  • Add the Rewards widget so customers can access your program inside the app.

  • Include Growave pages in your mobile app menu.

  • Reward customers for downloading your mobile shop app and opting in to push notifications.

  • Offer multiplied reward points exclusively for orders placed through the Shopney sales channel.

  • Display product reviews collected via Growave directly in your mobile app.

  • Let customers save products to a wishlist that stays synced between the mobile app and your web store.

Integration prerequisites

Before you integrate, check the requirements on both platforms.

Growave requirements

The Shopney integration requires Growave API credentials. API credentials are normally available starting from the Growave Plus plan.

⚠️ Important: We can grant API access to merchants starting from the Entry plan specifically for the Shopney integration. Please contact our support team and request human assistance so we can help you set up the integration.

Shopney requirements

Your Shopney plan must support the specific feature you want to add:

  • Rewards requires the Platinum plan or above in Shopney.

  • Reviews requires the Gold plan or above in Shopney.

  • Wishlist requires the Gold plan or above in Shopney.

Please check Shopney's pricing page for current availability.

Once enabled, Growave product reviews will appear instantly on product cards with star ratings within your mobile app. Customers can tap on the stars to see the details and post reviews directly in the app. Reviews will automatically sync with your web version.

Part 3: Set up the Wishlist integration

To set up the Wishlist integration, connect Growave and Shopney with your API credentials, so customers can save favorite products in your mobile app and find them again on your web store.

  1. In your Growave admin panel, go to Settings → API and copy your API Key and API Secret.

    Growave - Settings - API
  2. In your Shopney dashboard, open Integrations and select Growave Wishlist (Wishlist Program).

  3. Paste the API Key and API Secret into the matching fields.

  4. Choose your optional settings:

    • Allow guest wishlist: Lets customers save products without signing in first. When a guest later creates an account or logs in, their saved items transfer to that account.

    • Separate mobile wishlist: Gives the mobile app its own standalone wishlist instead of syncing with your web store. Leave this off if you want one shared wishlist across the app and web.

  5. Turn on the Enable toggle and click Save Changes.

⚠️ Important: The Wishlist integration works with the single wishlist. Multiple wishlists (separate named lists) are not supported in this version.

After you enable the Wishlist integration, the change is on the backend — your app's existing wishlist looks exactly the same to customers. What improves is how saved products are stored and synced:

  • Wishlist items sync between the mobile app and your web store, so customers see the same saved products on both.

  • Logged-in customers' changes sync in real time across the app and web.

  • Guest shoppers can save items before signing in; those items move to their account when they log in, which reduces wishlist loss after login.

  • Customers can return to products they were interested in from any device.Wishlist troubleshooting

Best practices for Rewards: Build a mobile app strategy

Using Growave and Shopney together allows you to build a complete mobile marketing funnel.

Reward app installs and push notifications with Custom actions

You can use the Custom action feature to reward users for installing your mobile app and allowing push notifications. This is highly valuable because it promotes your mobile app channel and encourages users to opt-in to free push notifications, bringing them back to your store more frequently and driving more sales.

🚀 Feature availability

Custom actions are available starting from the Plus plan.

Here is how to set up both actions and connect them to Shopney:

1. Create the App Install reward in Growave

  1. Navigate to your Growave admin panel and go to Rewards → Points → Ways to earn.

  2. Click Add ways to earn and select Custom action.

Growave - Rewards - Points - Ways to earn - Add ways to earn - Custom action.
  3. Fill in the required fields. Here is an example setup:

    • Title: Download our app

    • Description: Exclusive deals, faster checkout, and easier reordering.

    • Limit: Set to 1 per lifetime (so users cannot abuse the reward by deleting and reinstalling).

    • Reward type: Points

    • Point Value: 50

  4. Click Save.

  5. On the right-hand side of the setup screen under the How it will work section, copy the API reference ID (Custom action ID, e.g., 60225). Keep this number handy.

    • Title: Enable app notifications

    • Description: Be the first to know about exclusive offers and new arrivals.

    • Limit: Set to 1 per lifetime.

    • Reward type: Points

    • Point Value: 50

  4. Click Save.

  5. Copy the new API reference ID (Custom action ID, e.g., 70045) generated for this specific action.

📘 Note: If a user allows push notifications before logging in, the reward will be saved and triggered automatically once they log in. Be sure to announce these new rewards to your users across your website, social media, and newsletters!

Use Boost campaigns to reward orders placed through Shopney

Growave's Boost campaigns feature allows setting up a time-limited promotion that offers multiplied points (e.g., 2x or 3x points) exclusively for orders placed through the Shopney sales channel.

This strategy encourages your audience to transition to your mobile app, where conversion rates are typically much higher, and allows you to send them push notifications for free.

Troubleshooting and FAQ

Rewards

Why didn't a customer get points for installing the Shopney app?

App-install points are not credited the moment the app is installed. The customer must log in to the app first, and the reward is then triggered. If it still doesn't appear, confirm the Custom Action ID is entered in the App Install Reward field in Shopney and that the matching reward is active in Growave.

Why didn't a customer get points for enabling push notifications in the Shopney app?

If a customer enables push notifications before logging in, the reward is saved and credited automatically once they log in. If points still don't appear, check that the Custom Action ID is correct in the Push Notification Reward field and that the reward is configured in Growave. This reward field is optional, so it only works if you've set it up.

Why are the Growave Loyalty design elements showing blank pages in my Shopney app?

If the showcase or menu elements are blank, the API Key or API Secret likely wasn't entered correctly during setup. To fix this, copy both values directly from your Growave admin panel (Settings → API) and paste them accurately into the Growave Loyalty App tile within your Shopney dashboard's Integrations tab.

Why aren't Growave Loyalty features visible in my Shopney app?

If the loyalty features aren't showing in your Shopney app after setup, they might be disabled in your Growave settings. Ensure your Rewards programs (Points, VIP Tiers, and Referrals) are turned on in the Growave admin panel.

Reviews

Why are some product reviews missing from the Shopney app?

Only published product reviews appear in the app. Reviews that are unpublished in Growave stay hidden, so publish a review in Growave for it to show in the Shopney app.

Why shop reviews do not appear in the Shopney app?

Only product reviews sync to the Shopney app; shop-level reviews don't appear in the app.

Can customers sort reviews in the Shopney app?

Review sorting is not currently available through Growave in the Shopney app, so reviews can't be reordered by the customer.

Why Reviews aren't appearing in the Shopney app?

Make sure the reviews integration is enabled in both your Growave dashboard and your Shopney dashboard, and confirm the reviews are published in Growave, because unpublished reviews stay hidden in the app.

Wishlist

Why Growave Wishlist cannot be enabled in Shopney?

This almost always means the API Key or API Secret was entered incorrectly. Re-copy both values from your Growave admin panel and paste them into Shopney exactly, with no extra spaces.

Why are guests asked to log in when adding to the wishlist in the Shopney app?

This happens when Allow guest wishlist is turned off. Open Growave Wishlist tile in in Shopney's Integrations and turn it on.

Why saved items don't appear after a customer logs in to the Shopney app?

Items added as a guest may not show immediately. Ask the customer to reopen the Wishlist screen after logging in; if items are still missing, have them fully close and reopen the app.

Why the Shopney app wishlist and web store wishlist don't match?

This is usually caused by Separate mobile wishlist setting being enabled within the Growave Wishlist tile in in Shopney's Integrations, by the customer using different accounts on app and web, or by a sync that hasn't finished. Turn off Separate mobile wishlist to share one wishlist, and confirm the customer is signed in with the same account on both.

Why does a wishlisted product show the wrong variant in the Shopney app?

If a customer wishlists a product without choosing a variant, the first available variant is saved by default. Ask customers to select their preferred variant before adding the product to their wishlist.

Why does a removed item still appear in the Shopney app wishlist?

Removals can take a moment to sync. Ask the customer to refresh the Wishlist screen, then close and reopen the app, and check whether the item is gone on both mobile and web.
