Language editor and multi-language feature

Growave offers a comprehensive Language editor that allows you to customize default English phrases and add translations for multiple languages across the platform. Additionally, you can separately translate email notifications using the email editor and modify the wording for the Ways to earn and Ways to redeem rules. These features make it easy to adapt Growave to your brand’s voice and meet the language preferences of your customers. Let's go through the process step by step.


Add languages in Shopify admin

Before you begin translating content in Growave, add the desired languages in the Shopify admin panel. This step is crucial to ensure that languages are available for selection and translation within Growave. To do this, navigate to Shopify admin → Settings:

In the Languages menu, click Add language, select the required language from the dropdown menu, and click Add:

Click TranslateTranslate & Adapt to start the localization process:

You can manually translate entries into a new language or use the Auto-translation feature. Shopify offers free automatic translation for two languages. When ready, click the Manage link under the added language:

Click the three-dots menu and select Publish. Shopify will start adding translation to your website which may take some time depending on the volume of content to be translated:

Go to Shopify admin → Theme → Customize. In the Footer section of the theme customizer, enable the Language selector so customers can choose their preferred language:

Once the language is changed, Growave widgets will automatically display in the selected language.


Use Growave Langauge editor

Growave allows you to translate specific phrases or modify default text to better align with your brand's tone. To access the language settings, go to Growave admin → Branding → Language editor. In the Language editor, you can select the language from the list of those added in the Shopify settings, search for a specific phrase using the search bar, or select an app and find text to change:

Translate Growave notifications

Growave’s email notifications have multilanguage support and can be sent in the appropriate language based on your customer's location. However, these emails must be manually translated first in the Growave admin.

You can find notification settings in the Rewards, Reviews, and Wishlist apps.

In this example, let's use the Rewards program notifications:

  1. Navigate the RewardsNotifications page, select a notification email, and choose the language.

  1. Update the email wording to reflect your translated content.
  2. Save changes.

NOTE: When accessing the notification page or refreshing the language section, the default English version will always load first, regardless of the previously selected language.

Change the language of Ways to earn and Ways to redeem rules

Growave also allows you to translate rules in the Ways to earn and Ways to redeem sections.

To translate these rules:

  1. In Growave admin, navigate to Rewards → Points.
  2. Choose a rule from Ways to earn or Ways to redeem → click the Edit link next to the rule title.
  3. Choose a language from the dropdown above the rule title and modify the title and description.
  4. Click Save.

NOTE: Translations must be added manually. Once the new language is added in Shopify, it will also appear in Growave settings. If no translation is added, the default title and description will remain unchanged.


Change langauge of Nudges (Growave 2.0)

In Growave 2.0, you can also change the language of Nudges just like in Ways to earn and Ways to redeem.

To update the language:

  1. Navigate to Nudges and click the nudge title.
  2. Select a language from the list of languages added in your Shopify admin.
  3. Add the translated text in the relevant editable fields.
  4. Click Save to apply your changes.
