Customizing your shoppable Instagram gallery
This guide provides an in-depth look at the available customization options for setting up Instagram galleries in Growave. If you’re just getting started, we recommend reviewing the basics in our initial setup guide before diving into these advanced settings.
IN THIS ARTICLE:
Gallery options
When you open the Instagram Gallery in Growave, you’ll find several customization options to tailor the gallery to your brand:
- Gallery title: Rename your gallery to align with your brand's voice. This will be the visible title on your storefront.
- Display Instagram Stories: Enable this option to display Instagram Stories and Reels in your gallery, providing a dynamic experience for your customers.
- Auto approve: Automatically publish all posts from the connected Instagram profile to your shop, ensuring your gallery stays up-to-date with your latest posts.
Hashtag integration
You can automate user-generated content uploading by adding specific hashtags:
- Add a hashtag (e.g.,
#YourBrandTag
) and click "Save". - Growave will pull Instagram posts associated with that hashtag and display them in your gallery, and you can manually review them for publishing or unpublishing.
NOTES:
- We recommend using custom-branded hashtags to ensure only relevant posts are pulled into your gallery, keeping it focused on your brand and free from unrelated content.
- When the Auto approve option is selected, up to 50 posts with the added hashtags will be pulled from Instagram and marked as published in your gallery.
- If there are many posts from various accounts using the chosen hashtag, pulling posts into the gallery may take longer time.
Post selection and moderation
You can control which posts are visible in your shop:
- Click the circle with checkmark on each post to toggle it between published and unpublished. This gives you full control over the content displayed on your storefront.
Tagging products in photos and videos
Tagging products directly in your gallery allows visitors to shop items seamlessly:
- Select the photo or video where you want to tag a product.
- Use the search bar to locate your product.
- Once the product is tagged, customers will be able to buy it from the Instagram gallery directly, if the Enable product quick view setting is switched on (see below). If this setting is switched off, clicking the "Buy" button in the product popup will lead to the product page on your shop.
NOTE: If you add a link without tagging a product, the "Buy" button won't be display next to the product name in the gallery. This is because links can point to any page. If you use a Shopify product page link instead of tagging a product, this gallery widget won't appear on the product page when you integrate it with embed code.
Layout settings
The Layout settings offer embedding options and various ways to structure your gallery’s appearance:
- Widget ID and embed codes: widget ID is required for embedding widgets on different pages. Additionally, here you can copy the embed code for both Home and Product pages.
- Layout selection: Choose from multiple layout options that best suit your website design.
- Sorting preferences: Decide whether you want to display the most recent posts or prioritize tagged content.
- Filtering options: You can choose to show only tagged posts or all uploaded content.
- Columns, rows, and spacing: Customize the visual arrangement by adjusting the number of columns, rows, and the spacing between images, providing flexibility in how your gallery looks on your site.
NOTE: Number of columns can be adjusted for Grid and Listing layouts only.
- Show Stories and Reels: Since you can create multiple Instagram gallery widgets, you have the option to display Stories and Reels in one widget and disable them in another for customized presentations across different parts of your site.
Advanced settings
In the Advanced settings section, you can fine-tune the user experience:
- Enable product quick view: Allow customers to view product details in a popup without leaving the gallery.
- Tagged image display: Choose how the tagged images appear in the gallery: with "SHOP IT" button or a "Hotspot" animation.
- Photo selection: If a post includes multiple images, you can select which image to display: All or Tagged.
- Additional settings for Slider layout: If you choose Slider layout for the gallery, you can set the following:
- Visible posts count for slider
- Visible posts count for slider on mobile
- Enable slide show on slider
