How to turn Wishlists into sales with automated notifications

Wishlists offer valuable insight into your customers’ shopping preferences. When someone adds an item to their wishlist, it shows genuine interest — potentially signaling their next purchase. With Growave's Wishlist notifications, you can automatically send personalized emails that remind customers about their favorite products, driving them back to your store and converting interest into sales.

Let’s explore how to activate, customize, and make the most of Wishlist notifications to boost your conversion rates.

NOTE: Wishlist notifications are available starting from the Growth plan.

How to activate and customize Wishlist notifications

  1. Go to the Growave admin panel and navigate to the Wishlist → Notifications section.
  2. In the Notifications section, locate the Wishlist reminder campaigns you want to activate, such as "Saved wishlist reminders", "On sale," and "Back in stock". Switch them on by toggling the activation button:

Types of wishlist notifications

Saved wishlist reminders

Growave's Wishlist feature offers a series of automated reminder emails to re-engage your customers and encourage them to revisit their saved items.

You can set the specific delay for each email. For example, the first reminder can be sent after 1 day, while the second and third reminders can be sent after 3 or 5 days after each other.

Here’s an overview of the three reminders:

  • Saved wishlist notification

The first reminder is sent shortly after the customer adds an item to their wishlist, keeping their interest fresh and encouraging them to take action.

  • Second saved wishlist reminder

If the customer hasn’t acted on the first reminder, the second one provides a gentle nudge, reminding them about their favorite items.

  • Third saved wishlist reminder

The final reminder is designed to create urgency and prompt the customer to revisit their wishlist before they miss out on the items they’ve saved.

How saved wishlist reminders work for guest visitors

To allow guests to add products to their wishlists, make sure the Require guests to log in to access the wishlist option is disabled in the Wishlist settings.

Require guests to log in to access the wishlist

  • When this setting is enabled, guests will be prompted to enter their email address or sign up when they try to create wishlists or add items to them.
  • If disabled, guests can freely add items, create wishlist boards, and share their wishlists without needing to sign up. However, a "Save my wishlist" link will appear in the Wishlist widget. Clicking the link triggers a pop-up asking guests to provide their email address or sign up to save their wishlist.

On-sale and Back-in-stock notifications

  • Wishlist item on sale

This email is sent when a product from a customer’s wishlist that was not initially discounted goes on sale.

  • Wishlist item is back in stock

This email is triggered when an item that was sold out and added to the customer’s wishlist comes back in stock.

  • If a customer has multiple out-of-stock items in their wishlist that are restocked within a 10-minute window, they will receive a single email with all restocked items.
  • If the restocking happens more than 10 minutes apart, the customer will receive a separate email for each product.

This logic prevents customers from being spammed with multiple notifications.

NOTE: The inventory must be restocked with at least five items to trigger a back-in-stock notification.

If you would like to adjust the minimum quantity required to trigger this email, please reach out to our support team and ask to change backinstock min quantity setting, as it can only be updated on our end.

NOTE: In Growave 2.0, you can include recommended products in each reminder email. This allows you to upsell or cross-sell relevant items based on the customer's wishlist:
