By combining Growave's VIP Tiers with Intuitive Shipping's granular pricing controls, you can reward your best customers with exclusive shipping rates, such as free or discounted shipping for higher tiers.

This is a third-party integration configured via the Intuitive Shipping dashboard. Any paid Intuitive Shipping plan offers Scenarios and Conditions. To use this configuration, you must be on the Growave Growth plan, which includes the VIP Tiers program.

How the integration works
The integration relies on Shopify as the central hub for customer data.
Growave assigns a customer tier and rewards based on your program rules.
Growave assigns the corresponding customer tag to the user's profile and passes this data to Shopify.
During checkout, Shopify passes the customer tag and cart data to Intuitive Shipping.
Intuitive Shipping evaluates its conditional logic (e.g., Customer tag = silver) and dynamically calculates and returns the correct shipping rate.
How to set up tier-based shipping
To configure this integration, you need to set up your tiers in Growave and map them to shipping rules in Intuitive Shipping.
Navigate to Growave admin panel → Rewards → VIP Tiers to set up the program. Learn more about VIP Tiers configuration.
Verify that your tiers are configured to apply a Shopify tag (e.g., bronze, silver) when a customer unlocks a new tier.
Open the Intuitive Shipping dashboard and go to Shipping → Scenarios. Then click Create scenario.
In the Scenario title section, enter scenario name and select Status (Published, Testing, or Archived),
In the Conditions section, select Customer tag condition.
Set the logic to equals and enter the exact tag assigned by Growave (e.g., silver).
Save the scenario to enable shipping methods editing.
Click Create shipping method, select Custom services (e.g., Custom shipping rates), and click Next.
Select a zone (e.g., Domestic), and click Configure shipping.
In the General section, set up the Shipping method title, Status, and Description (Optional).
In the Shipping cost section, define Up to amount and the shipping rate (e.g., $10), then click Save.
Repeat this process for other tiers, or use logic like does not equal silver to apply standard rates to lower tiers.
Best practices for discounts and thresholds
When customers use Growave points to redeem an Amount discount or Percentage discount, and apply such discounts on their orders, this affects the cart subtotal.
⚠️ Important
In Shopify, discounts are applied before the shipping calculation occurs.
If you have a "Free Shipping over $100" threshold in Intuitive Shipping, and a customer with a $105 cart applies a $10 discount, their new subtotal for shipping purposes is $95. Intuitive Shipping uses this discounted total when discount fetching is enabled. You must account for this when configuring your free shipping thresholds to ensure they work correctly with discounted totals.
Troubleshooting
If a customer's VIP tier tag has recently changed but they do not see the updated shipping rate at checkout, this is due to Shopify caching.
📘 Note
Customer tag updates are not immediately reflected at checkout. There is a caching delay that ranges from approximately 5 to 25 minutes. During this time, outdated shipping rates may be shown. Once the Shopify cache expires, the correct tier and rates are applied automatically.
