How to set up and manage gift registries in Growave

NOTE: The Gift registry feature is available for Growave 2.0 users starting from the Growth plan.

The Gift registry feature enables shoppers to create and share lists of desired products for special occasions, making it easier for friends and family to find and purchase the perfect gifts. This article explains how to enable and configure gift registries, and how customers can create and manage their registries.

Enabling Gift registry

In the Growave admin panel, go to WishlistSettings and enable the Gift registry feature.

Growave - Wishlist - Settings - Gift registry

Once enabled, you can view the performance of this feature under WishlistGift registry:

NOTE: The Gift Registry can be enabled independently without activating the Wishlist feature. However, enabling both enhances the shopping experience, allowing customers to manage wishlists and gift registries seamlessly.

Creating Gift registries

To create a gift registry, customers must log in to an existing account or sign up if they do not have one.

When a guest clicks Add to Registry on a product page, a pop-up will prompt them to sign in or create an account:

Logged-in customers will be prompted to select an existing gift registry (a default registry is automatically created for new customers) or create a new one:

Gift registry FAQs

1. How is the status of items in a gift registry updated?

When an item from the gift registry is purchased (i.e. order is marked as Paid in Shopify admin), its status on the gift registry page will automatically update to "Purchased". The registry creator and any user with access to the shared gift registry link will see this status change.

2. Who receives order notifications?

Order notifications are sent directly from Shopify to the customer who made the purchase. This allows them to track their gift's delivery status. Alternatively, the purchaser can provide the gift recipient’s email address at checkout, allowing the registry creator to receive Shopify order notifications instead.

3. How can I enhance the experience when using both Wishlists and Gift registry?

To avoid multiple buttons on the product page, we recommend:

  • Displaying the Wishlist feature as an icon.
  • Using a button for the Gift Registry feature.
