Encourage sign-ups: Invite customers to sign up immediately by scanning a QR code on a poster or by visiting the store’s website.

Practice scenarios

New customers: For first-time customers, say, “If you join our loyalty program today, you can start earning points on each purchase to redeem for special discounts and rewards.”

Existing customers: Remind returning members to display their Loyalty QR code in the Rewards widget to earn or redeem points.

— Would you like to join? It’s quick to sign up — just scan this QR code with your phone, and it’ll take you to our website for easy registration.

— Once signed up, you’ll have your own Loyalty QR code, which you can access on our website by taping the QR icon in the Rewards widget.

— Next time, simply show your Loyalty QR code, and I’ll scan it to instantly apply your points and rewards.

How to use Growave's extensions in Shopify POS

Add Growave's Loyalty QR tile to Shopify POS

  • Open the Shopify POS app on your device.
  • Tap Add tile to view tile options.
  • Go to Apps and select Growave from the list.
  • Tap the Loyalty QR extension to add the Loyalty QR tile to your POS interface.
  • You can also add the Redeem rewards extensions to enhance customer interactions and seamlessly apply loyalty rewards during checkout.

Add products to the cart

At the bottom of the Shopify POS app, tap the Products section and select items to add them to the cart:

Direct customers to access their QR code

Ask customers to visit your shop’s website and log in or register for an account.

TIP: Create posters with a QR code linking to your website for easy access.

We've prepared two Canva templates for you:

  1. Extended template (can be used for displaying around the store)
  2. Compact version (for placing at the counter).

In Canva, go to the File menu and click Make a copy to add the template to your collection and start editing:

Once logged in, guide them to open the Rewards widget and click on the QR icon to display their unique Loyalty QR code.

Customers can also save their QR code to use for future purchases without needing to log into their account.

Scan the customer's QR code

  • Open the Shopify POS app and tap the Loyalty QR tile to activate the scanner.
  • Scan the customer’s QR code to instantly add their profile to the cart.

Apply rewards

After selecting the product and adding the customer, Shopify POS will display the number of items in the cart. The Redeem rewards tile will display the rewards to be redeemed and available discounts:

Handling customer questions

“What rewards can I earn?”: Explain available rewards like discounts, points, free products, or exclusive offers.

“How do I redeem my rewards?”: Inform customers they can show their Loyalty QR code to the cashier, who will scan it and apply any eligible discounts. Customers can also open the Rewards widget on the shop's website and redeem rewards for points in the How to spend points section. The cashier will be able to apply these redeemed discounts after scanning the customer's QR code.

“Do I need to sign up every time?”: Reassure customers that registration is a one-time process, and they only need to sign in and show their QR code or save it for future visits without needing to log into their account.


In-store signage and posters

Display QR posters: Place posters at entrances, checkouts, and other visible areas in the store, encouraging customers to scan to join.

Include a brief instructional note: Add a quick note on posters, such as “Scan here to join our loyalty program, start earning points, and redeem rewards instantly with your Loyalty QR code.”
