Integrating Growave with subscription apps

This integration allows you to integrate the Growave rewards program with your subscription app to reward customers with points and allow them to redeem discounts to apply when buying subscription products. 

This integration allows you to connect Growave’s rewards program with your subscription app, so customers can earn points for subscription purchases and redeem rewards on subscription products.


Subscription app requirements

We support most subscription apps available on the Shopify App Store, with the following conditions:

  • The app must use Shopify Payments to process recurring payments
  • Legacy subscription apps that rely on their own payment processing are not supported

How to enable the integration

Step 1: Make sure both Growave and a supported subscription app (such as Recharge or Appstle Subscriptions, or any other app) are installed and set up.

Step 2: In Shopify admin, ensure that a Purchase option is assigned to your product.

To add a purchase option:

  • Go to Shopify adminProducts and open the product you want to configure.

  • Scroll down to the Purchase options section and configure the subscription plan.

  • The product must have at least one active purchase option for Growave to recognize it as a subscription item.

Step 3: In the Growave admin, go to Integrations, find and click the Subscription apps card, click the Enable button on the next page.

Step 4: Go to RewardsAdd ways to redeem, and create a discount reward (amount, percentage, or free shipping).

When setting up the reward, choose one of the following purchase types:

  • One-time purchase — Discount applies only to non-subscription products
  • Subscriptions — Discount applies only to subscription products
  • Both — Discount applies to both

⚠️ Important

  • If the integration is disabled, any rewards linked to subscription products will no longer be valid. You’ll need to create new rewards for non-subscription items.
  • If the subscription app is deleted, linked rewards are not automatically disabled. If a customer tries to redeem them, the reward will fail, and Growave will notify you by email with more details.
