How to enable or display Shopify customer accounts

Customer accounts enhance the shopping experience by allowing your customers to log in to view their orders, update profile information, and save addresses. During checkout, customer account details are automatically filled in, creating a faster and smoother process.

NOTE: Enabling customer accounts is essential for using Growave's key features, such as Rewards, Reviews, and Wishlist. These features are designed to enhance the shopping experience, boost customer retention, and drive sales.

Types of Shopify customer accounts

Shopify offers two types of customer accounts:

  1. Customer accounts: A modern, passwordless experience that uses a verification code sent via email for login.
  2. Legacy accounts: A traditional login and registration method requiring a password.

How to enable customer accounts

Follow these steps to enable customer accounts in your Shopify store:

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to SettingsCustomer Accounts.
  2. Locate the Login links section.
  3. Turn on the toggle next to Show login links. Your settings will be automatically saved.
